The Locally Verified badge means we ran a short set of checks on a business at a point in time. It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a quality guarantee.

What we check
1. Real local presence
The business has a Texas address, or a real service area that includes ZIP codes this edition covers, and a working local phone number. We check the address or service area against the covered ZIP list and confirm the phone number works.
2. An active license, where one is required
For work that Texas requires a license for, such as electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and heating, and irrigation, we look the license up in the state's public license lookup and confirm it is active. Where no license is required, there is nothing to look up.
3. Active business status
We confirm the business is active with the Texas Secretary of State or the Texas Comptroller.
4. Proof of insurance, on request
For trades where insurance matters, we may ask the business for proof of insurance. A business that cannot provide it when asked may not get, or keep, the badge. We do not publish policy details.
5. A responsiveness test
From time to time we send the business a test quote request, the same kind of request a customer would send. A business that does not respond within a few business days may lose the badge. The test shows only that the business's contact route works. It says nothing about price or quality of work.
What the badge means
- The checks above were done at a point in time. They may be out of date, and a business can change after we check.
- It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a quality guarantee. It does not mean a business is licensed or insured for your particular job. Ask for the license number and proof of insurance yourself before you hire.
- Permian Finder shows no ratings or reviews, and the badge is not a score. It rests only on the checks listed here.
- It is not for sale. Basic, Featured, and Priority listings can all earn it, and paying does not earn it. Paid placements are shown only for listings that have passed the checks.
Re-checks and appeals
- We may re-check any business at any time. The badge can be removed if a check no longer passes: for example a license that is not active, a business that is no longer active with the state, a test quote request that goes unanswered, requested proof of insurance that is not provided, or a move out of the covered ZIPs.
- An owner who believes a badge was denied or removed in error can appeal by emailing support@permianfinder.com. A person will take another look.
What profiles show
Permian Finder shows no ratings or reviews. Each profile sticks to facts: Locally Verified status, years in business, services, hours, photos, and an optional owner-written About us.
